The new iPad 2 from apple is on its way, it’s been a year since the announcement of the first one, the announcement for the next one will come real soon, this is a no-brainer, but it doesn’t stop geek celeb Kevin Rose from claiming he has the scoop and claiming he has secret information on “good authority” about iPad2, to get him some press, when any idiot could have (and many did already, “predict” the same thing based on simple bloody logic, no imaginary “authority” required. “Digg founder Kevin Rose, said on his blog that the next iPad is imminent. I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”.” well DUUUUHHHH that’s BLEEDINGLY OBVIOUS KEVIN, whats the matter? you name not in a headline showing you as some kind of “authority” for more than a week? kevinrose.com I’m also officially sick of listening to “people in the know” who have information from un-named but “reliable sources” claim that the Verizon iPhone is days away from announcement, every few months since the iPhone was first released this has been going on some jackass has predicted it… just stop making crap up you asshats! when Verizon or apple say it’s coming, THEN you can publish stories about it coming. publishing wild guesses from un-named sources and calling them “rumor” is just SHITTY Journalism & only doing it for blind page hits and offer up absolutely no FACTS or insight. Plus, that Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” video google released at CES is a bit of sexy … -

Update: For all the “lololol it’s not a fair fight” comments: No, of course is isn’t. I wouldn’t try and compare the two on a like for like basis. What I was attempting to do here was find out if the Pogo Stylus combined with an iPod (which at the time was all that was out) worked well enough to warrant splashing the cash out on an iPad for sketching with. For what it’s worth, the Pogo Stylus is not bad, but it’s over-priced for what it is. Just have a look around Youtube for the video that shows you how to make one with steel wool. Buy a Pogo, and when the foam goes south (which it will), rip it out and use the #0000 steel wool. It’s soft, and if you have a screen cover it won’t scratch the surface. Will I get an iPad? When it goes to 2nd gen I probably will if it has the new ‘retina display’ but I’ve learnt in the past that early adoption is rarely the way to go with Apple. For those getting all bent out of shape about my comparison, I’ve changed the title. ————————————————————————————– In the interests of research, I decided to compare drawing on an iPod Touch with a Pogo Stylus Vs drawing the same image on a Cintiq. Who won? No contest really, of course it’s the Cintiq… but what I was more interested in was trying to find out if the iPad will be a viable digital sketch tool. I remain unconvinced. -
Here is a quick demo of the L5 remote attachment for the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. With the help of the harmony one ps3 remote, you can use the app and your iPad as an overgloried remote control. Range on the IR adapter is very good, comparable to my harmony one; it seems to have an even wider range so it bounces off walls to irda receivers. see my full blog post at blogs.tech-recipes.com enjoy
